Curious to know if anyone can tell me if the newer stereos that have the amp and sub can be installed in a truck to enable a after market amp and subs to be installed.

none of the factory steros have pre-outs to install after market amps. however, you can always use lineouts to install a sub amp, then just disconnect the factory sub. that would make a big difference in the overall sound quality. you could also bypass the amp to allow the installation of a 4 channell as well. however, this is going to be a pretty advanced install. you have to splice RCAs to get the signal from the factory wiring. you can always take it down to your local best buy or something and they could do it for you for sure. hope i could help! good luck!!

Some of the higher quality aftermarket amps come with plugs to tap into the rear speakers, if not the module to convert your rear left and rear right speaker wiring to rca outputs only costs about 20 bucks, then its basically a regular amp install except you dont have to run the rcas to the radio, only thign left after that is your power, ground, remote wire and dont forget to unplug your factory amp!
