I know that people have posted about issues with the encoder motor and sensor before. I have self diagnosed and am at the point where i am ready to replace the sensor. I have even purchased the part. I have a 2005 Silverado and I am unable to find the encoder motor on the transfer case. I know that sounds bad but I just don't see it. I have tired to find pictures of the transfer case for my truck and have been unsuccessful. If anyone has a good pic that they can share it would be greatly appreciated. If you dont have a pic if you could give a really good description that would work too. Also if anyone has replaced this before, tell me about the rubber gasket inside the encoder motor. Does it have to be replaced? If so do you have the part number for it. I have not been able to find it. Thanks alot!
