I'm looking for a good 4X4 off-road shop that doeseverything from mechanical work to interiors. I am in the Chicagoland Areawestern or northwest suburbs.

That is a pretty tall order. You might be better off finding a good 4x4 shop and a separate interior shop.

Just looking to have the front end leveled, all new bushingsand body mounts installed, cat-back system installed. Then the fun stuff, newleather seat replacement covers done for the front seats, a brush/grill guard,tail light guards, upgraded stereo system, new floor mats, bug deflector, ventshades and finally a Mossy Oak Grass graphic installed on the bottom of thedoors and rocker panels...
I would like to have everything done at one place, a onestop shop if you may.

Everything you speak of that you want cosmetically and with stereo can ALL be done at a good stereo shop. A full service custom shop lifts, exhaust, interior, exterior and stereo is few and far between

have you called Attitude performance in Arlington Hts.? They have done several lift Kit installations for Four Wheeler and other Magazines

Those are rare shops, and thankfully I have one here in central MN. They do it all for 4x4s, interior and exterior, engine/tranny, frame work, lifts and tires. Everything but the actual painting of body parts.

A good shop/mechanic is hard to find. You what to avoid "chain" stores obviously but there are a lot of shady small privately owned ones to. I left WI and a great mechanic in my MN move last month and I just got lucky there was a 4x4 shop that offered almost every type of service that has great people working there that do not charge dealership or even private shop labor rates.

Sound like you are just doing suspension and exhaust, then cosmetics and stereo. Basic shop for the suspension and exhaust, detail shop and yourself for the interior, stereo installer and yourself for stereo and all that other stuff like installing brush guard and vent shades can be done by almost anyone, including yourself.

Always be sure to checkout craigslist for local mechanics that do general or specialized work, that's where I found both my WI mechanic and this new shop. Just ask them for proof of workmanship and experience.
