I installed a Procharger supercharger on my old 2000 Silverado 5.3. A word of caution: A supercharged engine runs hotter so you need to install electric radiator fans and eliminate the factory fan. Also plumb your intake through a cold-air system, purchase larger than stock injectors (I went from 23 lbs/hr to 46 lbs/hr), get the biggest intercooler that is available and get it professionally tuned. One last thing, maybe just buy a newer truck. I spent $10,000 + on mine (I did the labor) and could have spent more. It never ends. Have fun!!Looking to hear from anyone who’s put a supercharger on a GMT400 Suburban 2500 with the 5.7 Vortec? I ask bc I’ve always wanted a green over gold GMT400 Suburban 2500 4x4 with the 7.4. I found a beauty but she’s got the 5.7. But I want to stay in the max towing range of 10K as with the 7.4 rather than 7K with the 5.7. So I was wondering if a supercharger would do the trick.
