5.7 Vortec Supercharger

Looking to hear from anyone who’s put a supercharger on a GMT400 Suburban 2500 with the 5.7 Vortec? I ask bc I’ve always wanted a green over gold GMT400 Suburban 2500 4x4 with the 7.4. I found a beauty but she’s got the 5.7. But I want to stay in the max towing range of 10K as with the 7.4 rather than 7K with the 5.7. So I was wondering if a supercharger would do the trick.

I think a tune would be the way to go.

You don't say the mileage; but you wouldn't want to add a lot of boost and break something on an older engine.

I have to take exception with a statement made earlier, a supercharger will increase low end torque, and as he said, it will also add to upper end horsepower.

I had an Olds with a Buick 3.8 that was factory supercharged. The best engine I ever owned, it would break loose with part throttle.

I don't think I ever towed with it; but I know it would have moved a good size trailer.
