I've still got my 89 K1500 the backing plates are rusted through. I went to the aftermarket no one has a inexpensive replacement. GM & LMC are $300.00 per side. Any thoughts that can help. Thanks in advance.

I agree with Racekid...Go to a junk yard. I don't use Craigslist, but I would definitely look on Ebay. And I will NEVER buy anything from LMC. The prices they charge, all of their $#!t should be gold plated. A set of Edelbrock TES shorties for my '91 Sub? LMC wanted $450. I got the exact same set off Ebay (Summit's store) for less than $350.
If you don't want to be crawling around a junk yard, start looking online, but I wouldn't expect a pair of backing plates to run you more than $50 at any pick-n-pull...Good luck!
