Has anyone had a issue with the power steering gearbox, basically destroying the frame? Basically where the gearbox bolts to the frame has been completely torn open allowing the gear box to move while steering. This is a big problem with steering, making the steering very very loose. Only option I have found was to tear down the front, cut out the damaged part of the frame and weld in another piece. This sounds like a really difficult job, and I am looking for an alternate way...

Yep, the frame on the old 80s bodystyle trucks had issues with the steering box pulling through. Several offroad fab companies sell frame repair kits and brace kits. Looking for those things under a mid-80s Blazer would probably get you the results the quickest. Most companies will refer you to the 90s bodystyle truck parts when you say you have a 90-91 Suburban. (I'm assuming it's a Suburban based off the R/V model designation)
