I just bought a 96 Suburban 2500 4x4 with the 7.4L engine and have noticed a few spots of fluid under the front. When I crawled underneat I could see a few drips on the skid plate. I am assuming it has a front differential and wondered are they known to leak and if so from where?
Check the half shaft seals on either side of the diff first, then look over the diff itself, then the oil pan, the half shaft seals would be the most likely to leak but given the year of this truck it could be any or all of the three.
