Anyone know if a P series alternator like the one in the ebay listing below could be used on a 97 Chevy C2500 / 5.7 Vortec gas engine, Eighth digit on vin is R?

The link you provided says it will fit, what's your concern?

Where does it say it will fit my 97 Chevy C2500 ?
Sorry Rick, it doesn't.
I was looking at the motors, and years, that it would fit, not realizing the step vans might have a different mounting config, or wiring config.

No problem, I was hoping you saw something that i may have missed. The P series alternator looks exactly like the other ones. First link below is the alternator that fits the C2500 and the second one is the P alternator, They look identical to me except for the price?

What's the electrical system in a step van?
If it's 12 volts the regulators should be the same; however, it could be a 24 volt system.
I've never opened the hood on a step van.
