I replaced the fuel pump with a cheap brand (about $150) about 9 months ago, but it looks like its crapped out.....no noise when key is turned. I recently replaced the relay to rule it out.

Any suggestions? If I replace the pump again, can anyone suggest a better brand, or is there something else going on?

Also, any suggestions on disconnecting the fuel lines? I'd like to remove the pump without breaking the plastic so I can return the product.

Thanks,

Brian

You know, I did a bunch of research on fuel pumps and was going to write a thread on what I found, just never got to it.

I installed a Bosch unit. Normally at Schucks, the unit is $400, but Amazon has them.

Bosch 67379 is if you do not have CA emission equipped vehicle.

Bosch 67382 is if you have the CA emissions.

Be careful to inspect your car, pull the pump, maybe check out if the VIN code indicates which one you have first. I "assumed" I did not have a CA emission equipped vehicle in WA, but I did, so I ended up ordering the wrong one, then returning it.

As for the fuel pump lines. I bought this fancy disconnect set. The one on the left. It DID NOT WORK, the tools are too big. Then I find this GM specific part at Schucks. Only about $8 I think, it worked like a charm.
