Nice! A quick little truck you got there! My buddies brother has one like your's just with long tube headers, all the bolt ons like yours with tuner, but with a 5.3l not that things pretty fast.

I'm impressed by yours though!

With juice i think it'd be pretty close, i think it would be driver fault for the race win or loss.

Get rid of those stock gears for some 4.11's and you will really be happy:party:

I had American Axel and Manufacturing gears put in...those ore the OEM brand of gears. A local shop got the gears and installed them for $600.00 out the door. That was the install, fluid, and the gears.

Iam not sure, but I am guessing your rear end is like mine 8.5 - 10 bolt. The Z71 come stock with 3.73 I think where mine was 3.23.

If you want to order the gears you can google it and find a lot of places but I would maybe try to find a local drivetrain shop get the gears and install them, that way you have a warranty.

Hey man i went to the site i would probably want 4.56's since someone told me if your looking for more power and takeoff compared to the 4.11's more for gas mileage and such.. here is a link would these fit my truck? They are GM 4.56's 8.5 bolt?http://www.drivetrainamerica.com/p-906-40028640-gm-85-8625-456-ratio-aam-gear-set.aspx
Ya you could probably do 4.56...I would nt say 4.11's or 4.56 are for better gas mileage! What you want to figure put is your tire height and what your typical highway rpms are then figure in the gears you want so you can see what your new rpms will be.

At 85 with my stock 3.23 gears my rpms where 1800....with
The 4 11's they jumped to 2500.

here's a couple of links

I used.67 for the gear ratio

Oh...as a side note the guy who did my gears said he had even done 4.85 on the Z71s....the over drive in our trucks can allow you to be a little moir agressive with new gears...some guys thought I was crazy for doing 4.11s as they thought my rpms would be 3000 to 3500 with overdrive.!

Anything will be an improvement over stock, however, what gears you choose will depend on what your looking for. How tall are your tires from the ground to the top of the tire? If its 33 inches you are looking at 2400-2500 rpms at 80mph.

In town wont be an issue....4.56 gears in my opinion should be fine. If you do any highway driving just take the truck out in 3rd and see if you are comfortable with the noise at 2500 rpms.

Yeah my tire's are 33 13.50's but when they run down i plan on adding 35 12.50's so which gear would be the best then? I just want too know what the best gear would be with 35's i don't plan on going bigger than that. I plan on adding a 3 inch body lift sometime would that still look good with a 7.5 inch lift with 3 inch body with 35's they wouldn't be too small i don't guess?
