I have chevy cargo van. Whenever I'm driving and listening to an am station static starts to build up. It's loud and impossible to ignore. To discharge the static you have to push the auto lock buttons or turn any light on, or any number of things. Does anyone know what might be causing this build up?

Get a HD Radio set up. Some of the Am Stations come in on the HD Fm stations and sound like Fm..

It's a work truck so I'm not really looking to spend any money. I don't want to spend to much time on this cause it's a company truck. just looking to see if anyone else has comeacross this problem.
