Well question is as simple as the title really. I was wondering if anyone has ever painted thier badges while on the truck? I was thinking about painting my badges dust black, or gloss black and was just wondering if you guys think its able to be done on the truck with alot of carefulll masking. It would just be pretty hard and very time consuming to remove all the badges, clean and prep all the 3m tape off the truck and them and very hard to get them all back in the same place nicely spaced again. Here's a jpg I snagged off the web of the badge since I don't have any close up pictures on my truck.

I've seen a few members that painted their truck's badges while they were still on the truck and came out looking great. As long as you take the time to prepare and carefully mask off the areas around the badges, you should be fine.

I agree. Its all in the tape job you do.

I very well might be tempted to do it up. I'm just worried I might not like and and there's no going back. I've already tried to just locate another badge to put on my tailgate with no avail.

You really need to prep the badges well, I think it would be easier to scuff them up etc off the truck. If you dont like how the paint comes out...well...you have just debadged your truck. A mod in its self!

I took the dealer badge and flex fuel badge off already, really like how it cleaned up the tail gate. but I paid good money for those badges lol , well more so the suspension and locker other options that were added in the Nevada package. I think I might just leave em alone for right now, I would take them off but getting them back in the right spot, and all lined up nice would be a royal PITA, even with a application sticker sheet so I put them all on at once.
