Please offer advise. I had my radiator repaired and I am having trouble reattaching my lower radiator hose. the clips on the hose end will not fully seat the lower radiator hose no matter how much I push, twist and align the grooved surfaces. Any suggesitons would be appreciated.

I use a small coating of dielectric grease on the seals. Push on with a slight twisting/rocking motion. The grease should help lube it enough to fully seat.

Thank you. I will give that a try. I was not sure if the hose which 2-3 years old may not be as flexible and therefore, not able to line up enough to fully seat. I appreciate yur advice and will give it a try.
They are just really tight as I'm sure you noticed when removing it.

I tried your suggestion of dielectric grease. The hose is on the truck, drive-able and up to temp without leaks. The retaining clip still does not seam to be fully seated. I' m concerned that a large pot hole may cause the snug fit to loosen. Thank you again for your time and advice.

Sorry for the delayed reply. I've had some pretty stubborn hoses do the same. Normally I would give them some SOFT taps with a smaller deadbolt soft hammer towards the radiator. I don't feel comfortable advising you to do it. Normally the jarring motion would help the clip fully set.

Thank you. When you use this technique, are you tapping on the retainer clip directly? the groove on the hose end? or just the hose itself?
Appreciate the advice.
I use a prybar with a large end on it against the back lip of the hose. Tapping towards the radiator. Remember that the plastic is brittle and this is not recommended.
Is the locating tab lined up correctly?
Yes, the tab is lined up correctly. The hose end can only go in 1/16-1/8" before it contacts the tab.
I will try your method. I have a new hose coming this week if I break this hose.
Thank you again for confirming my suspicion of unseated clip.

The clip is seated. photo attached.
I used a rubber mallet and 1X2 lumber. Just a few taps and it seated.
I would like to send you tangible thank you. Pay pal?
Thank you! Thank you!

No need! Glad you got it seated. 👍 I've had a lot of help too.
