Here is one that i will really get behind. I hate brining my truck to a dealer or trying to get any information from them.. This bill will elimate most of that there will be a small fee (who knows what small means) to access the information, however the rest of the info will be readily available for free including those wonderful TSBs!!

That's a good read! I see no problem with a fee based system. Personnally I think it should be a pay per use, say $5 per vehicle per day that way the charge can be directly passed on to the customer. At a cost that low diyers would also be willing to pay for the quick info.

Of course the auto dealers association say that the law is not needed. Hmmm, lets think about this. If you don't have access to a TSB then your factory manual will only get you so far. Without the $8,000 Tech II Scan tool you won't be able to diagnose the problem as quickly as the dealer who makes 35% more than Bubba down the street. Who knows, may be one day there will be a scan tool we can afford that will do more than the basics.
