RE: Auxiliary fuel tank for 97 Suburban

Not sure if they even make them for that year do they?

My 94 has a 41 or is 42 gallon tank, I got to ask. With around a 6 to 800 miles range what do you need more for?
RE: Auxiliary fuel tank for 97 Suburban

My truck is a 6.5 diesel and gets around 22 mpg @ 65 mph, but I’m thinking about adding this additional tank and running bio-diesel. With all the extra room under the truck it seems very doable. This will increase my distance from 900 miles with my 42 gal. tank to around 1500 miles with additional 30 gal onboard, before I ever have to think about filling up on my long trips. This will make more sense when I find filling stations that have better fuel prices like $2.78 a gallon in SC then paying $3.15 a gallon at most other stations.

Great Idea, I believe there is another regular here with an older diesel.

I don’t see why you couldn’t do it, just use a pickup duel tank, then you have the fuel door For the side. But I don’t think you will find a duel tank in 30 gallons. I believe they are 20 or something like that.

Just remember I think the bio diesel has to have the tank heated. Or does it? Not sure now, my memory is shot.

Or was it the used vegetable oil? Hell sorry not of more help on that one.

Pick-up truck tank have the fill neck towards the center of the tank. This makes very hard to fill. Need something that has the fill neck towards the rear or right at the wheel well. The best side to put a tank is the left due to the extra room. I did find a place in OR. but the price is out of this world.
**** Still looking for something on this earth.

Try a bone yard, I replaced the tank in the 94 Burb from Motor Supply. made in canada and was $200 but the one for my 92 F150 rear tank was only $100.
