New memeber, just purchased a used 2013 Silverado Crew Cab with a 5.3 and have a few questions
that I’ve found answers to but have one that I can’t seem to locate.
The transmission temperature guage almost Immediately after starting is around 135 F. Then after warm up, and driving, goes to Approx 175 F. With no tow load.
My concern is that it never seems to drop to 0 F?
Today before cranking up it was reading 82 F with an outside ambient temp of 85 F.
Is this normal?
Will it alway be reading close to the outside ambient temp?
So far it’s never gone over 200 even with a light load.

Thanks for your reply.

If the 135F is starting from cold during the summer season, it's a little high. My 2018 reads around 85-90F in the morning during the summer.
175F after warm up and driving is normal.

It will never drop to 0F unless ambient is below 0F during the winter.

82F is normal after sitting overnight.

Yes at first start up in the morning.

Thanks. Sound like mine is good then.
