I am looking to replace the old bed on a 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500HD standard bed. I have found a pretty clean 2002 GMC sierra 2500 standard bed near me. My question is will the GMC bed fit on the Chevy and have body lines and everything line up?

It will fit (same length); not sure about body lines.
I don't recall any body lines on either bed.

I dont know about that era, but the gmt400s sheet metal was the same. only the added trim packages were different like the front grill. no idea about the new ones but I dont see GM making manufacturing more difficult since the 90's.

It will fit just fine. The only change between the two was the front clip and hood. The taillight shape did change, but at the sheet metal, it is still flat smooth against the body.

And, Howdy and Welcome to the forum, Walker.
