I'm replacing a rusted brake line on a 2001 GMC 2500 Savana van with a 5.0 liter engine. Can anyone confirm the type of flare that goes on the brake line? The double flare I made practicing looks too thick compared to the flare on the old brake line. So I'm assuming it's a single flare type.

Not 100% sure but every brake line I've ever seen was a double flare due to the very high hydraulic pressures encountered.

I think you're correct. I also need to practice more on making the ends. I think that's the issue.

Double or bubble, but you shouldn't find bubble on gm. It can be tricky till you get the depths down right...you will get it
