Broken door lock. [Expired Topic]

The backseat on the driverside door's lock doesn't work. Every time I want to lock/unlock the door I have to get an alen wrentch (I think thats how you spell it) or a hooked tool. I went to take the door panel off and I found another panel but it is metal. I don't see a way of taking the metal off. How can I attach the lock nob (the thing you pull up to unlock the door) with the locking mechanism? And how can I get the alen wrentch that I accidently dropped inside it?

Once you have the door pad off your there, that’s all you get the steel stays there. pull all the paper or plastic off and look inside the holes in the door, you may need a mirror to see what you are doing but usually this problem is just that the lock rod has fallen inside the door and you just need to push it back up threw. If by chance it has fallen off the pivot that it was on you will need to find it in the bottom of the door and find the little clip that holds it on, then simply reinstall it on the pivot with the little clip after you have pushed the rod back threw the hole.
well the plastic lock nob that is on the top of the door is not connected to the pivot inside the door. how can i attach it?
There is a clip on the end of the rod, or should be. If it’s not there it’s most likely in the bottom of the door or lost.
My best suggestion on how it goes is to take the opposite door pad off and look at how that one attaches. Its just to hard for me to try and explain. Once you see the other side you will understand.
there isnt a clip there. (i hope im thinking of the same rod as you)
well if it is in the bottom of the door, how do i get it out?
Magnet on antenna. The rod that has the door lock dutton on it coming up threw the top of the door pad.
oh ok. when i have better weather ill look at the other door and see how thats done. and ill use the magnet to get the alen wrentch out.
