I'm new to the board but I was wondering if it is possible to replace the radio system in my 2004 Envoy with a Navigation system/radio from a 2006 model? If so would it fit the same or would it look all jacked up?

If it is not possible do I have any other options other then and external Navigation System? Does the Navigation Also play DVD's?

Thanks!!!

RE: Can you put a Navigation System from a 2006 in a 2004 En

I'm pretty sure that you can do this.

For the most part, all of the Trailblazer and Envoy (and Bravada and Ascender) 9-7x vehicles use double-DIN Delphi head unit.

Becuase of this, a stock navigation radio will bolt right in and plug in.

Now, once installed you probably have to get the previous VIN removed by a dealer, if they know what they are doing. If not, find another dealer.

These units are pretty cool, I'd like to look into getting one.

You should certainly be able to do it without a problem. If you're looking for more ideas, check out www.mp3car.com These folks regularly put pc's into their vehicles, which opens up all kinds of options, such as easy hookup of rear mounted camera, engine diagnostics on board, integrated dvd player, GPS/Navigation, and use of internet at wireless hot spots (ie. McDonald's) among other options too numerous to mention.
