I'm trying to find the canister purge valve on my 2000 Suburban K1500 4WD with 5.3. I've seen where some people show it as being on the intake manifold and others show it as being back by the gas tank. I haven't looked for it, I just want to order it right now. Rock Auto shows in the description as being on the manifold, but youtube vids show it as being back by the tank. I've also seen pics that look different all for the same year. Everything shows that 2000-2006 are the same but that's what it is showing in the pics or descriptions of where it is. Can someone verify location and pic. I was just going to take it out and blow it out but some have said it could be the valve is stuck open so I'm just going to replace it. Thank You!

Not at all, I will prob just look for it. TX! Has to be in one or the other.
yea i was looking at videos and it has it in both places. clean it out and blow it out with air, they tend to get dirty and dusty. some guys lube them with wd-40 but i dont know about that. that stuff tends to eat some rubber components.

Well, after doing some more research, i have found that the Canister purge valve and the canister vent valve are two diff parts. Some of the vids on youtube have guys showing the purge valve in back by the tank. They have been corrected by other people. The Canister Purge Valve is mounted on the Intake Manifold and the Canister Vent Valve is mounted back by the tank. Many are calling both parts the wrong thing. I got a code of PO446 which I found was the Canister Purge Valve but both parts are $40.00 from Rock Auto so I ordered them both. Truck has over 200,000 miles and neither has ever been replaced so I'm sure they are both due. Thanks Again!

yea the purge valve is a solenoid activated electronically so its gonna have a harness to it and is most likely under hood as mine is on my 99. vent is gonna be at tank and just a vent which is pressure operated im assuming. gotta love emissions
