Hey gents,
Im looking for a software program that will allow me to use my laptop to connect with my 2000 silverado 1500 pcm. I believe i found the correct cable, but am totally clueless about the software or program needed for my laptop to communicate with my trucks pcm.
Any ideas or suggestions?

to connect to your truck for what purpose? scan for trouble codes? data logging? tuning???

what "cable" did you buy?? any of the data logging or tuning software you would need to buy, will come with their own special, proprietary obd cable that you would have to use in order to use their software....

Maybe i want specific enough..
Software to check trouble codes, sensors, freezeframe data, short and long term fuel trim...and i didnt buy any cable. What i am looking at can be found at http://www.myscantool.com

yes, correct... you'd need to buy their complete kit... the cable, interface, software, etc.... and you can record data logs...

it won't allow you to tune your truck tho.. only data log...

much better off getting a diablosport Trinity, that will allow you to do all of that, PLUS tune your truck for better, more efficient performance...
