Does anyone know if the colorado 5.3 is the same as the 5.3 in the silverado? does it make the same horsepower and torgue?

The info I saw said the Colorado had 300hp. It has to be a screamer. Add a CAI, exhaust, tune and hang on.
I would be happy to look into this for you. Is there a specific model year that you are considering?

The motors and engine ratings SHOULD be identical between the 2. The wheel horsepower and torque ratings may be different though. The only difference I could think of would be if they used a different intake, which I don't think is the case. All the other internal parts are identical.
I have a 2010 V8 w/5.3L LH9 300HP Colorado. From what I understand, it is " de-tuned " from the 325HP in the Siverado.
As retired2001 said, I'm sure the computer is detuned. Thats a easy fix.
the 5.3 same as in the Alpha H3 its a slightly detuned, which is odd considering the rearend is a better gearing then even the silverado (you can get 4.11 in the colorado), and considering the trailblazer SS has a 400hp 6.0 in it and that is the same platform as the colorado I havent been able to figure out what warrants the detuned 5.3, anyone??
