help: painting grille

hey guys, i have the chrome grille on my '09 silverado and i wanted to know if its possible to paint it black? i would buy a new grille but i feel like this would be cheaper if it will look good. i dont want it to look like i did it in my backyard(even though i did) lol.

so if there are any write ups i didnt find when i searched or if someone can show me one, preferably with pictures so i know what im doing. lol if not it's all good. thanks in advance!

I don't have a write up, but I did mine and it's been holding up well for over a year now.
