As the title states, are all the automotive LEDs available on the market dimmable? I'm looking to replace all my dash lights with LEDs, but I need to retain the ability to use the dimmer to dim the lights when I'm in very dark conditions. I'm also looking to redo all my lights with LEDs.

While I'm on the subject of dash LEDs, I'm guessing I need LEDs that are set up in arrays to provide 360 degree light since the old chevy dash lights light indirectly. Am I right in this assumption?

Finally, I'm looking for a good, reliable supplier of LEDs. I don't happen to know of any and do not want to go through ebay for various reasons.

To my knowledge, all LEDs are dimmable but don't quote me on that. As for the 360 degrees thing, I think you need 360 degree array LEDs to get even lighting on your dash, otherwise you might have bright and dark spots. I found the superbrightleds site and didn't know if it was legit or not. But, now that I've heard from you and saw an ad for them on the local radio station's website, I feel better about it. Their site seems decently laid out to find the bulb needed. Any other testimonials for this site?

I've heard a lot of good things about superbrightleds, and will probably be dealing with them myself sometime in the near future. Other than that, I know that all LEDs should be dimmable, but not all do it well. The LEDs I bought off of eBay to change my climate control and headlight switch lights on my silverado seemed to make my dimmer switch not work well. When I just had the gauges as LEDs, those particular ones seemed to only dim in a couple of stages, unlike the normal ones on the dash. When I did the whole dash in LEDs, no matter where I set the dimmer, I either had full brightness or barely on.

But, I've never heard of anyone having any problems like that with the superbrightleds products, so you should be pretty safe going with them.

I spoke with some gus who have led in the dash here, they said you wont get a true dimming. Just bright or dim.....its not like the stock ones where you have different levels of din.

i've purchased all my leds from superbrightleds.com. i've NEVER had a problem with ordering from them, i've always had a good experience. all my lights in the truck are leds except for the headlights of course. also, my dash lights don't dim when i use the dimmer.
