I have a 91 Chevy Silverado with a 350 and 5 speed manual trans. I orderd a new oil filter/cooler adaptor from a Gm website since mine has a crack down the middle. When i got the part in it did not have the holes where the oil cooler lines go but it is the same adaptor. So could Just take off the lines and put the new one on?

Welcome to the club. Sounds like you have the wrong adapter. If GM didn't think your truck needed the cooler than they would have saved the cost of putting one on.
