DOD Instrument panel indication

Hi, Folks,

I'm new to the world of SUVs so please bear with me.

I just bought a 2003 Trailblazer EXT 5.3L with 8300 miles (13200Km) and really like it.

The gas milage is a bit of an eye opener but nothing that wasn't expected.

Just came across this forum and it looks like a a place where I'll be able to learn plenty.

I'm curious about the displacement on demand (active fuel management) system as to why there isn't an led on the panel indicating when it is working - that would be a great indication on the highway for better fuel management.

Is it possible to turn on such an indication in the Driver Information Center or is there an aftermarket instrument one could install?
