99 Suburban, on a trip to Arkansas I notice that my door locks no longer work. The keyless entry work great and you can use a key to open the back hatch or any other door but the interior door switches do not work. I do know the switchs and the cigerete lighter are tied together and I have looked at most of the wiring but I am lost as to what else it could be? It got to be a short to ground because i keep blowing the 20 amp fuse the minute I put one in.

99 bur with 214,000 thousand miles and still kickin. Friday i am getting it reprogramed to tow better but i have to get my doors fixed...drivin me crazy...

RE: Door Locks

I still have not found a fix for this. In the c post is the module that controls the keyless entry and dog locks but i have not had time to take it apart yet and see if I can disconnect this from each door to isolate the fault. Been coaching football and soccer and working on other projects.

Love to hear anything on this though.
RE: Door Locks

I am having the same problem with the locks and the cigarette lighter - both just up and quit working last weekend. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Its seems like a little problem, but its extremely annoying.

Same year, or a different one?

Hi, I am new here and have a 99 K1500 LT 4x4 and I to have lock issues! Still love my burban however =)
Was checking resistance on my injectors the other day with a buddy who is a home electrician.

My cheep tester ($20 at Wal Mart) read .3 ohms higher than his $75 tester.

His also has a circuit tester in it that mine doesn’t have. Might be real handy in this problem. You can test the circuit, wire to se if it is conducting juice threw. Gives an audible beep.

Sort of like the old tester that I can’t for the life of me remember the name of. Dam STML.
Continuity tester. Dam My mind is shot.
