Hello everyone. Im brand new to this site. Ive been a long time Chevy truck owner. I drive a 2005 2500HD crewcab and I also have an 03 Tahoe. Im in the process of buying a 2011 GMC 1500 crewcab to replace the 05 Silverado. Right after I bought the 05 I installed a kit to have the brights and dims on at the same time when you put on the brights. I tried to find the paperwork on the kit but I guess it was tossed long ago. I remember getting a kit for my older Silverado from stylin concepts but they no longer list anything. Im sure the kit from the 05 wont work on the new truck. Are there any companies making this for the new GM trucks ?
Also I have an Extang cover on the 05. Do those fit well on the new trucks ? What do you have to do to get them to fit right over the tailgate protector ? Thanks for any replies !!!!

If you want the low beams to stay on with the highs, just search the all-on-high mod. I have seen it on the avalanche clubs, and I believe I have seen it here for the 07+ vehicles. It can be done with a couple of diodes from radio shack, which would save you $$ as opposed to buying a kit for it.

On the 2011's, at least on my 3500HD, when you put on the high beams, the low beams stay on as well. I think this is standard on all the 4 headlight trucks made since 2008. Low beam is an H10 and High beam is a 9005.

Actually, now that you mention that, a lot of the trucks that have left their high beams on as they went by me have done that. I always thought those were people that were wiring them up that way. That being said, I can't confirm or deny that the GMC is the same in terms of that functionality. I see no reason why it wouldn't, but I have also seen many things on vehicles that make absolutely no sense to me.

Thank you for that info. I called Painless and they said there isnt a calling for that type of kit for the new Chevy and GMCs. I guess thats why ! I dont have the truck yet and Ive never had the chance to drive one at night. The dealer that Im trying to but the truck from is giving me some grief about getting the truck so I might be buying it from someone else. Im really starting to hate this crap. I was supposed to have the truck by Friday but it looks like thats not going to happen.

No problem, even though mine's a Chevy, I'm sure the headlights on the GMC work exactly the same. You know, you'd think that they had lineups at the door to buy vehicles the way some of these dealers act. If this clown doesn't want to sell you the truck, go somewhere else or see the sales manager.
I had some grief with the sales guy when I was buying my truck. I went to the sales manager and they gave me another $1500.00 off and couldn't apologize enough for what had happened. If these guys don't want your hard earned cash then there's lots of dealers who do. JMHO
