i have a 91 K1500 4x4 with 305 (no catalytic converter). My check engine light kept coming on, so i had it checked (eventually) and was told that the code for EGR came up. So, like all responsible Chevy owners I went out and purchased a new EGR and replaced the old. Now it's important to note that I had absolutely no symptoms of a faulty EGR at this point; No surging, no rough starts, no rough idling, no drop in gas mileage... just "The Code." So, as soon as i put the new EGR on, what should happen but now i have all of those symptoms. And my question is: "Should I just unhook the EGR and stop up the vacuum hoses? Or should I follow this rabbit hole and see how deep it goes?
