Has anyone done a replacement of the OEM Clutch fan. I am looking to see if anyone has and if there are any recomendations. I can only guess as to what the proper CFM should be. This might free up some more power and fuel mileage
What's your goal, to free up power? They did this on one of the car tune-up shows, I'll see if I can remember which show it was. The overall project wasn't that difficult, probably took about 90 minutes start to finish.
I don't have one on my burb, but I am trying to talk my boss into adding one on my Silverado. At 100+ ambient temperatures, my truck pegs the temp gauge when idling too long. The stock fan spins too slow at idle speeds and doesn't draw enough air through the radiator to keep it cool. I have used FLEX-A-LITE fans on other vehicles. They are easy to install and work great.
