Hey guys,
Im lookin to get a fuel/air mixture gauge for my truck and i was wonderin if any of yall knew any good brands for this gauge and also specs i would need to get one...
I dont know if i would need a wide band or narrow band, that seems to be a choice you have to make and some say i might need to be O2 sensor kits with them to make them compatible...
any help would be appreciated!
thanks!

oh wow i had no idea they were that much :/
i was thinking you just buy the gauge and all you would do is run a wire to tap into the O2 sensor wire...
well what is generally included in a "kit"?

Ya you can get a cheap gauge from pep boys or the alike I guess....just depends on what your tastes are. You have to be sure to ground it at the engine block..you will also need a 12V wire.

If you dont mind me asking, why do you want one...most guys that have them are running super chargers etc and use them to tune and pinpoint faults. The other option is to monitor the o2 sensor for diagnostic purposes i.e an "open loop" = bad gas mileage.

Oh...and you probably want narrow band...wide band comes with thier own sensors which is more money.(high performance engines)

Personally its waste of money unless your going wideband and have a need for it....otherwise its just "bling".

I have a friend who is getting on for his jeep and was trying to convince me to get one with him, i also want to monitor the fuel/air ratio for monitoring purposes and to make sure that everything on my truck is running right due to some problems i have had in the past and it could also help me pinpoint if my air filter is being restrictive even though it has been recently cleaned, and also to see if any possible gas mileage might be being affected due to a bad ratio, and i do hear detonation when i put the pedal to the floor on the highway... so in a nutshell.... for monitoring purposes lol
