Sounds like you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Nobody wants to remedy the issue for you. You may have to fix it yourself and go to small claims court for restitution. Identifying diesel by touch and smell will not pass muster in court. Was any of the contaminated fuel saved for evidence? If the fuel from the station was contaminated, you would not be the only one having trouble. Try calling around to other repair shops to identify other victims. Maybe working with your local consumer advocate, someone like Bogey, or Clark Howard could get the attention of the gas station. Good luck.

Not all filters are created equally. I've seen oil filters with bad bypass valves that let the oil past the media. I seen plenty of clogged fuel filters, but never one that didn't do it's job. A small amount of diesel shouldn't be a problem, but contaminants like metal particles should be filtered out.
