Had a set of Bosch wiper blades on my truck that worked great. However when it came time to replace them they were now $20 a piece (did not pay that much first time around), so I decided to go with a set of Trico.

It was a colossal mistake.

I just got home from a 150 mile trip through snow and sleet. These wipers which were less than a month old were absolutely terrible. I had to keep running washer fluid just to keep the streaking down.

I am just going to just bite the bullet and pay for the Bosch.

Ditto on the Bosch. I now use no other. I did try the high dollar Rain-X but those required using funky adapters (included) that failed to correctly connect to the wiper studs.

About a month later I trashed the Rain-X blades and went back to Bosch. IIRC they're 22" dash OE. Worth every penny. I still use Rain-X All Season washer fluid but not the blades.

I had a friend that worked at Trico. He would show up at school with a handful of new wiper blades and pass them out so for years I was changing my blades every six months for free. I never really had any major issues with the Trico. He has since graduated and I had to buy blades two weeks ago I went with the Bosch icon. I have to say I am pretty happy with them at this point except for the fact that the passenger-side blade messes about 2 inches of the windshield on the right side at the beginning of the wipe

I don't know if you guys have a Costco around you, but they sell Good Year wiper blades. Someone recommended them to me years ago. They are $7.99 a piece normally, $4.99 on sale, and they work pretty damn good, they are like a squeegee, even in the snow. For that price, I can replace them often...

Good info passed along, in this thread. I use Rain-X in the yellow bottle and don't have to use the wipers much but I am currently in need to replace them. They are the factory blades that came on the truck, when purchased new 4 years ago.

Just thought I would mention (a little off topic). My sister (a fairly new widow) has a 2014 F150. When she was here a couple of months ago I went through it with an oil change, brought the tire pressure up to 34 and filled the empty washer reservoir with Rain-X.

THEN she tells me how "dangerous" the Rain-X is. WHAT?

"Well sometimes I find myself watching the beads of rain run up the windshield instead of the road. Looks kinda cool the way it does that."

I drained it out and refilled it with some blue stuff.

My sister-in-law has the same problem driving in snow. She finds it mesmerizing.

I Use the Bosch Icon Blades.....and I Use Windex's Windshield and Bug Cleaner Fluid......I Don't Know if Any of you have Tried, and/or Do This, but Twice a Year....in Late Fall and Early Spring, I Wash-n-Clean My Front Windshield, and then after, Apply a Coat of Wax to Protect the Windshield from the Elements, also a Good Coating of Wax Helps with Repelling Rain, and Last, the Wax Quiets Wipers.....When My Wipers are On, I have No Squeaking at All, Not a Sound....

Bosch are the best in my opinion also, 99"SILVERADO thanks for that, so you just polish the wax off and it is streak free?

I apply the Wax with a Polishing Pad and then Remove it with a Couple of Soft Terry Cloth Towels, which Leaves the Glass Streak Free.

Good idea. I will have to try this.
Thanks.....;)

+1 for the Bosch. Tried Michelin, figured they should be good, turned out to be crap after 3 months, and I park in a garage. Back to Bosch, and staying there.

Shhh . . . Don't tell anybody Mike but that's Rain-X's secret additive. I read years ago that Rain-X contained wax to repel water so it would bead up and vacate the premises (windshield). Back then they only had one product. Instructions were to scrub windshield (with a product like Soft-Scrub) and then apply with a clean cloth.

It appeared to be thinner than water. I'm guessing alcohol based. I don't know what kind of wax was supposedly dissolved in it - back then I thought maybe paraffin but from what you say maybe it's carnauba.

I do know it works. I keep a gallon of the washer fluid in the truck tool box, a gallon in the trunk of the Eldorado and a couple gallons in the garage.
