Hey guys, I am looking to buy a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with the 6.6 Dmax, Ally Transmission. It is an LT Crew Cab has the Z71 package 2WD. The truck has some miles though, it has 135,000. They are asking 20,000 Flat. What do you guys think? This will be the first time I purchase a diesel and I am a Chevy guy so I will stick with the Dmax, I just wanted to input from everyone. What are yalls' thoughts? Is the price reasonable?

Good Price? 2008 Chevy 2500HD Dmax reply

Dear Axobreil,

I have read your post inquiring if $20,000.00 is a reasonable price for a used 2008 Chevrolet 2500HD with the Duramax engine. Have you looked at the Kelly Blue Book site to input the information that you know to see about getting an approximately value of this vehicle? It is an avenue that a lot of people use when they are seeking the type of information that you are.

Hi Michelle,

I have indeed inquired with KBB to get the approximate value of the vehicle, however, I do not want to solely rely on what KBB has to say. This will be my first time buying a Duramax and I wanted to get some feedback from the guys to see what they think. The truck on KBB is valued a little over 20,000, but my main concern is the mileage, I'm wondering if it will be needing maintenance soon or what type of replacements this truck will be needing soon, furthermore, I was originally looking to buy a 1500 but I found this truck and liked it, but I have been told that maintenance and repair is a lot more expensive on these trucks. Does anybody know if this is true? I hoping some of this info will be posted. Thanks
