I'm new to the forum but not new to Silverado trucks. I had a dark gray '05 2500 4x4 crew cab long bed with the 6.6 detroit diesel until last year when I sold it to buy my own big truck and strike out on my own as an owner operator. I was a company driver before that and only got through the house every 3 weeks so when I sold the '05 it had less than 20k miles on it (15k the first year I owned it and then about 2k per year the rest of the time). Got a GREAT deal when I sold it.
Having been without a 4 wheeler for over a year (it got increasing more difficult to ride my motorcycle to the grocery in inclement weather), I figured it was time to buy something a little more practical. On June 17 I bought a new 2011 black Silverado 1500 LTZ 4x4 standard bed with the 5 point something gas motor. It's fairly well equipped with most of the whistles and bells. I only got to drive it one day before I had to hit the road and won't be home again until the holiday weekend. :grrrrrr:
I'll still probably only put a couple thousand miles a year on it (i can insure it as a recreational vehicle because of that) but I already have the "let's spiffy this thing up" bug circling around in my mind. First thing will be a spray on bed liner, or maybe a leveling kit, or maybe snazzier wheels, or maybe a better sound system, or.....
....and so it begins.....
