Hi, I am a 68-year-old, retired U.A. Steamfitter / Certified Welder. I bought my 2001 Chevy Silverado as a lease return in 2004, and it has been a good truck. It has the 4.2 liter V-6 Vortec engine in it, 2 WD, and the extended cab. At the present time, the truck has 108K miles on it.

I bought my 2008 Chevy Trailblazer in 2010, and it was also a lease return. The Trailblazer has the 4.2 liter I-6 Vortec engine in it and 4 WD. The Trailblazer currently has 155K miles on it.

I have been a shade-tree mechanic for all of my life, with no actual proper schooling in mechanics... Out of necessity, I have learned about vehicular mechanical repairs by "flying by the seat of my pants". Oh, I must admit that I have made some mistakes in repairing my vehicles over the years, but I always learned a very valuable lesson from each of them.

Much like me, my vehicles are getting older, and as a result of their aging, requiring more repairs. I'm looking forward to the advice in this forum, as there is no better advice than we can get than from someone who has "been there and done that"!
