Hi all; New here to this site. I am the original owner of a 2000 Silverado LS with 212K miles, and no problems untill now, except at 110k my service engine light came on and the Dealer said it was the cat converter burned out, and I have ignored it since then. My urgent Problem now is; When I take off, I only have 2nd and 3rd gear. I tried the Tow/Haul switch but that does not seem to be working, for how long I do not know as I have not used it in years.
Any help would be helpfull before I take it to the Dealer. Thanks in advance...

Pull you dip stick if it smells burnt you need to rebuild it



i am sure you have a 4L60E that being said they are junk as far as 3 and 4th. its prolly burnt up and needs rebuilt. i recommend you have a shift kit installed and when they rebuild the 3rd and 4th clutch pack they use late model steels so that they can get 2 extra clutches in there. Also i would use the HD bands. Also dont waste your time upgrading the sun shell if they want you to as the break at the threads not the sides (the upgraded one has thicker side walls but thats not where they break they strip out the threads and the stock one is the exact same at the treads as upgraded one.
