i got the color matched ones with the chrome handle for mine. mine is an 04 but it should be the same idea. you take off the door panel on the inside and there should be a hole where the inside of the handle is and there is prolly a couple bolts. Mine had 3 i think. You take those out and remove the lever connected to the door handle that pulls the door open.then the door handle should come off and you can replace with the new ones. For my tailgate there was three bolts on the inside and a couple of levers to unhook and the it came off. Hope this helps. The worst part is removing the door panels which should be done with care because the clips can break. i love color matched!

lol yeah i know what your sayin man. I dont have much more to do to the outside though. I wanna get a spray in bedliner along with maghytec diff cover a cowl induction hood and black mesh grille with rivets along the border and a set of recon smoked cab roof lights. I have some painted door handles coming in and am about to install my recon led light bar that is red and lights up white when in reverse. The outside is almost completly done and for the inside i'm not gonna do too much other than seat covers new floor mats and in dash screen. The motor i will only be doing a few things such as cold air intake and maybe headers. I plan on getting me a 2500hd here in a few years and that will be the truck that i will put all the money in the motor because gas burners really dont help allot unless you invest more than 2 grand compared to a diesel lol!!

Here is a photo of what to remove to get your handles on and off. Looks like 2 screws and the cable...the cable can me removed by pinching the tabs..hard to explain but once your in there you will see them.

I might just have my buddy help me that works at a GM dealership for the first one and i'll do the second one. have you done your door handles yet? if not here let me help you out, as I install them at work. take door panel off, put the window up, you will see 1 body plug by the latch area of the door, pull that out, behind it you should see a 10MM bolt head, using a 6 inch extension and ratchet (magnetic socket works wonders here but can be done with out) remove the 2 bolt that hold the handle on, look down near latch on inside of door there is a lil yellow scotch lock looking thing that is your out side handle release, open it and it will come loose. slide handle forward slightly, itll pop right off. Driver side with the lock cylinder has 1 more bar for the lock, pop it out and repeat process. the lock is held in with a spring clip slide it off and slide into new handle.
Hope I didnt confuse you
