I think it all matters on how you drive. My 2002 TB has only 39000 miles on it and the tires are pretty much gone in the center. Speaking of which, I have a nail in the front pass tire that I need to get patched.
I think that low profile tires can be made to last. I mean, even pirelli makes some low profiles that are supposed to get like 50K miles. Of course, they make some Z rates tires that are low profile that are supposed to go up to like 190 MPH too.
I Nov. of last year, I put Michelin Cross Terrain radials on it, at 36K.
What a difference. These tires handled better in the snow and rain than the OEM BF Goodrich tires. In addition, they are HR rated, and supposedly good for 60K, we'll see.
Just like any other new vehilce, I have never gotten more than 36K on OEM tires... The OEM BFG on my TB were junk- too soft of rubber.
