I have a '98 Chevy, I think we did this once before, but I'll be darned if I can remember how we got the inside armrests off! There isn't anything in my owner's manual either. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

RE: How to remove inside armrest to allow a seat cover?

I have to look at this myself I need to replace the armrest on my 2000, its all cracked. Usually there is a "C" Clip or a set screw that holds these things in place. I will look at mine tonight (I'll check the '95 also) and see what I can find.

According to the service manual, you need to remove the bottom of the seat back trim, reach up in the seat foam and release the clip, then pull the armrest out. installation is as simple as replacing the clip into the seat and then shoving the armrest in until it clips in, then rehooking the seat trim cover.

Thanks so much for the info, although, couldn't they have made it a little easier?

I ended up cutting a hole in the seat cover and stretching it over the armrest. Gee, must of been an engineer that designed that!

The end justifies the means. That is part of my daily philosophy. Good to hear we have another determined Burbanite on board.

Has anyone found a seat cover that fits the arm rest as well. My suburban also needs a seat cover and was glad to see this post. The Upholster shop wanted $175 per bottom thats 350 for my 2 fronts. Then when I started looking for seat covers I could not find a beige one. The if I could find one I had this arm rest problem. Were all in this boat together. I do like the idea of cutting a whole if there is not a cover that fits the arm rest. My search continues.

I'm working on a deal for discounts for members of this site from a company that makes replacement seat covers for all makes and models. I'll see if they respond and I'll get back with you this next week.
