I went to change my muffler on my wife 94 Burb today.\n\nI found that rather than use muffler clamps on the muffler, both ends.\n\nSome moron decided that it would be better to weld it in place, both ends. \n\nNow I know this isn’t a factory muffler, not unless they last almost 200,000 miles. \n\nSo I cut as close to the muffler as I could with a cutoff wheel on a die grinder, then got as much off the rest of the welded pipe off with a air chisel.\n\nThen with a grinding stone in the die grinder ground off as much of the weld that was left. Put the new muffler in.\n\nBut in doing so, cutting muffler off, I got some rust in my eye. \n\nSo if I ever meet the guy who welded that muffler in place. I am going to cut off his nuts and feed them to him. \n\nOff to the ER.
