I went to change my muffler on my wife 94 Burb today.
I found that rather than use muffler clamps on the muffler, both ends.
Some moron decided that it would be better to weld it in place, both ends.
Now I know this isn’t a factory muffler, not unless they last almost 200,000 miles.
So I cut as close to the muffler as I could with a cutoff wheel on a die grinder, then got as much off the rest of the welded pipe off with a air chisel.
Then with a grinding stone in the die grinder ground off as much of the weld that was left. Put the new muffler in.
But in doing so, cutting muffler off, I got some rust in my eye.
So if I ever meet the guy who welded that muffler in place. I am going to cut off his nuts and feed them to him.
