Hello

Recently I had a lucky break with my 1990 Suburban 6.2 Diesel. The Oil Cooler line fractured and pumped out a Gallon of Oil,Luckily This happened on a down Hill stretch to my yard and the Engine was at idle. After fitting a new line and refilling with Oil,there is no damage apparent.

I would really like to fit some kind of light that illuminates when the pressure is low, should this happen again.

Has anyone done this?If so how was it done?

Many thanks

A normally-closed pressure switch set at 5psi or so and wired into an ignition-controlled circuit should do the job. Should be pretty easy to do.

I gather that you have a pressure gauge at present and want to suppliment that with a light. I do not know if they make a combination switch/sending unit for that or not but it would be fairly straight forward to add a tee to the sending unit and add a switch to come on with low pressure to turn on a light.

crawdaddy beat me to it and I also agree
