I had a similar experience in a 83 Honda. Would not idle down. Took it to dealership.
They sprayed carb cleaner in carb on on linkage and the butterfly was stuck. Mechanic asked me if I ran No Name gas and I said yes. He said the No Name gas does not have the cleaners to stop build ups and to go back to name brand gas. I did so and it never did it again. I have not run no name gas since that time and no other problems.
