Hey all, so I had a chance to take my new to me 05 Silverado ext cab on a long trip this week. It is like riding in a tornado! The wind noise is SO LOUD! It is coming in from between the door and body on both driver and passenger sides. Could it just be the weatherstripping? Even when driving around town it sounds like I have my window down. The air leak is very minor though. I thought that was strange. Anyways I have been searching this and other sites and cannot seem to find a definitive answer, anybody got one for me? Sure would appreciate it as I am going on a trip again tomorrow night, please help if you can.

Also, no bug shield or the like and its not from the windshield its definitely between door and body. Noise persists when window cracked, not the equalizer vents or whatever there called.

I would check the door catches as well since the doors were known to not close as tight allowing air in, similar to not closing the door tight enough.

I would have to agree that this is likely to be the weatherstripping. However, if you find that this does not solve the issue, I would recommend contacting your local dealership. They shoudl be able to assist you further. I can also look into this for you. In order to do so I will need the VIN for the vehicle sent to me in a private message. Thank you.

Alright, so I went ahead and took the weatherstripping off and saw one possible problem. Ill post a picture here in a minute but there is a "tunnel" from that runs along the windshield in the weatherstripping and it dumps out right into the door at exactly the spot where there is a gap in the weatherstripping, and ironically, where I hear the noise the most! So I taped it and it helped quite abit but there is still a little more noise than should be coming through so I'm going to try and adjust the striker bolt for a tighter fit. Be back soon with some info and hopefully pics.
