ipod to radio connection

I have a 2011 Sierra crew. It has the cd/mp3 radio with usb port. I can use the ipod cable that comes with the ipod and control it through the radio. My question is, is there a way to splice into or "t" off the usb port from the back side of the dash so the ipod cable isn't out in the open?

Well, you could probably find an aftermarket module that would provide a USB port from the rear. However, you would lose the ability to control the ipod from the radio. The USB intergration is all internal to the radio itself. II'm not sure if the newer GMT900's include an auxiliary USB cable to the golve box but you can check, but I'm not sure, just giving you somewhere to check.

I have an aftermarket radio with front side USB. My solution was to buy a black IPOD usb cable, and run the cable on the edge of the dash and stuff my ipod in the glove box.
Peripheral or Pac Audio (Same Co now) is what you are looking for. I have one in my truck I have a behind the dash Aux input(Used for Sirius) HD Radio and a Ipod hook up... Check it out... http://www.google.com/products/cata...a=X&ei=1mSYTZi4Iob8tgeY6vSCDA&ved=0CHIQ8wIwAw#
enkei, will that also keep ipod control to the headunit?
GM sells a cheap alternative that allows you to play and control your iPod through the head unit controls. Look on gmcaccessories it's called the PAL accessory and is about $59 if I remember correctly. I couldn't add it since I have the nav.

Yes it should and also charge it.... Go to http://www.pac-audio.com/ and look up your truck and which Ipod you have...
Thank you. I looked at the suggestions that were given. I am not familiar with the new stuff out, I have some more questions. I have bluetooth in the truck also will these kits still allow that feature to work. I do have and use the xm radio so I would like that to remain. I looked at the info on the pac audio site and am confused. Any more input would be greatly appreciated.

Enkei thank you for your input. I have one more question for you. Will I be able to charge my ipod while it is being used while using any if these kits? Again thank you for your help.
