Just went dead.....

I have a 89 C1500 with a 5.7 liter. I went out to crank it this morning for it to warm up. I went inside to get my stuff togather came back out and the truck had went dead. When I went to crank it it did nothing even the lights don't work. I checked the battery and it shows voltage. If I could get some ideas it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

check all your grounds and the terminals to make sure theres a good connection... even just grab the wires and give them a good shake... if the lights wont work its obviously a connection problem. happened to me once in old truck, after not being able to figure it out and I got super pissed and went kinda crazy shaking the wires... lights came on and truck started. after getting home I took apart all the connections and cleaned them up, some of the grounds were corroded.
