my key FOb is mafunctioning. The door LOCK/UNLOCK no longer works. The HORN PANIC BUTTON still works. What could be causing this
you may need to re-program this FOB to the vehicle.

over the 14 yrs 2000 silverado I had my FOB fail or I should say not work. what I found was , this was caused by signal interference. now I kept pushing the lock/unlock and this then caused this FOB not to be programed correctly. so did the procedure and it then started working , BUT NOT AT THIS LOCATION THAT HAD THE INTERFERENCE..

SINCE THE ALARM WORKS THEN THE BATTERY SHOULD BE GOOD .. easy to check any way..
should be in your owners manual procedure for this 1999...........

Yea...l I don't have the owners manual. Keep trying to get the lady to bring it to my mom. They work at the same place... She keeps forgetting. I don't remember where I got the procedure last time. Had to find this FOB at the junk yard. Luckily it matched the part # that the dealership told me I needed

If you "found it at a junkyard" it won't work until it's programmed.

What do you mean by "it no longer works" did it work at one time?

You can find a copy of your owner's manual online.
